Golden sand, black shingle and the deep blue of the Atlantic

Sheltered coves for swimming, long sandy beaches for walking and wild shores where surfers wait for the perfect wave. Lanzarote has a beach for every mood.

From Casa Karen, the island's finest beaches are an easy drive away by hire car. The beaches of Puerto del Carmen are just ten minutes from the door.

Sand dune overlooking the cliffs of Famara
Caleta de Famara

Famara

Beneath cliffs several hundred metres high, the beach at Famara stretches for kilometres. The wind drives the waves ashore, surfers feel right at home, and the fishing village of La Caleta de Famara, with its sandy streets, has seafood restaurants overlooking the ocean.

Our tip
Strong currents make Famara less suited to swimming, but it is perfect for walking, watching and simply taking it all in.
