We are delighted to welcome you. Make yourself at home at Casa Karen.
We have furnished the house with a lot of love, and many of the things in it have a story of their own. To keep it just as lovely for the guests who come after you, we have a few small requests. Thank you for helping us look after it.
Arrival and departure
- Check-in from 3 pm, check-out by 11 am. Other times can usually be arranged, just ask.
- You will receive all our contact details by email as soon as you book.
- On the day you leave, please put the dishes in the dishwasher, take out the rubbish and close all windows and doors. Our cleaning team will take care of the rest.
Feeling at home
- Casa Karen is a non-smoking house. You are welcome to smoke in the garden, where you will find an ashtray.
- The house is set up for up to 4 guests. Only registered guests may stay overnight.
- Pets are welcome by prior arrangement.
- Much of the furniture is antique. Please do not put hot or wet glasses directly on the wooden surfaces; you will find coasters ready for you.
- Beach towels are under the bed in the red bedroom. Please keep the bathroom towels in the house.
Visitors and neighbours
- Friends are very welcome to join you for dinner, in the dining room or on the terrace. Parties and celebrations, however, are not possible.
- Tías is a quiet place. Between 10 pm and 8 am we ask you to keep noise down, in the garden too.
Wind, sun and water
- Lanzarote can be windy. Please close the windows and doors when you go out, and bring the garden cushions inside in the evening.
- When the air conditioning is on, please keep the windows and doors closed, and switch it off when you leave the house.
- Drinking water on the island is produced from seawater at great effort, so please use it sparingly.
- Sun cream leaves marks on the sofa and cushions. A towel to sit on works wonders.
Rubbish and recycling
- The bins are down on the street, directly opposite the entrance to the house.
- Spain recycles: yellow for packaging, blue for paper, green for glass, and everything else goes in the grey bin.
If something happens
- A glass can always get broken. Just let us know if something breaks or stops working, so we can replace it before the next guests arrive.
- If you have any questions or problems, we are here for you. You will find our contact details in the email you receive after booking.
We wish you a wonderful time on Lanzarote
And if you need anything or are looking for a tip for a day out, just ask us.
